The meaning behind the civic holiday is to honour John Graves Simcoe, the first Lieutenant Governor of Ontario (then known as Upper Canada). He was also the founder of the Historic Fort York, the birthplace of modern Toronto.

It’s hard to believe that it is already 9 months since I moved into Waterfront Manor. I transitioned from owning my home to an apartment last October, and my transition was made virtually seamless with the help and guidance of Larry and Helene Ferguson - the Superintendents at Waterfront Manor. They could not have been more helpful!
Not only are Larry and Helene always readily available to promptly address problems or answer questions, but the common areas of the building and grounds are kept immaculate and welcoming - all year round. I am so relieved, and extremely grateful, that we have Superintendents that are so accommodating, approachable, knowledgeable and friendly.
As a single senior, it is very comforting to know that I can engage Larry or Helene with any problems, concerns or questions. In speaking with other tenants here, I know they echo my sentiments in this regard. Kudos to the "super Superintendents"!
